Medical cannabis can be prescribed in three forms: Oil, Flower or Capsules. The dosage is determined by your doctor to form your bespoke treatment plan.
For information on how to administer and store medicinal cannabis, please see our guide on how to use medicinal cannabis.
Cannabis oil is produced by heating cannabis and infusing the cannabinoids in a carrier oil like coconut or hemp seed oil. Cannabis oil is provided in a bottle with a pipette which is applied in drops under the tongue.
‘Flower' refers to the plant material itself. It is ground down to a fine consistency and administered using a dry herb vaporiser. A vaporiser gently heats the flower until the cannabinoids become a vapour, which is then inhaled.
Cannabis capsules are filled with a carrier oil that has been blended with cannabis extract. Like other pills, they are to be ingested.
